Five minutes of thoughts
I popped downstairs to the Lawton’s a few minutes ago because I had a headache and needed some Tylenol, or at least the generic Compliments version they sell there. There’s something about today that aggravates my headache. I think it has something to do with the assault on our nervous systems that the news has been dealing over the last 12 days. I don’t feel like I have adequate words to describe my horror about what happened in Minneapolis, nor do I have them for the level of depravity that’s been mentioned in the latest scuttlebutt regarding Trump and Epstein. It’s all too much.
I am waiting for the time to go get something to eat. I hope this helps my headache a bit. I’ve also been thinking of the things I want to write in the next few months, but for the most part I just want to get back to going outside whenever I feel up to it. I’m in no rush, though; spring is when the beginning really happens and I am just doing whatever I can each day. Not particularly deep, but depth gives me a headache on a day like this.
Sara Benincasa does this exercise on her Patreon where she sets a timer for five minutes, writes, and does a little editing afterward, and invites other people to do the same. What I posted above used her method; I want to do something like this more often, even if it’s not shared with others.
