Gawd. I feel you on the need to market oneself to get connection. I've been exploring ways of being in community that don't require any one person to do a lot of work. Easier to do when the weather is good and folks can gather in public spaces so no one has the pressure of hosting. I am also finding it helps me to have a phone tree of people I can reach out to when I need that social connection without too much commitment.
